AGMES materials include 925 sterling silver, 18-karat gold vermeil, 14-karat gold, and freshwater pearls. Almost all the metals used are recycled, and any scrap metal is melted down for reuse.

Maral Rapp  |  Modern Vintage Mesh Works

Maral Rapp vendor images

Maral Rapp's focus on detail, commitment to personal style, and deep love for vintage objects all come together to create this singular, metal mesh jewelry. Drawn to the flashy, fluid metal of Mid Century and Art Deco mesh purses, Maral is inspired to give the iconic handbags new life in a more wearable, contemporary application. Working from her Oakland studio she presents swatches of the reclaimed mesh as small jewels—rich with history, yet decidedly modern, delivering unique, sustainable jewelry that glows in the lowest of light.

Metal mesh from vintage and antique purses is cleaned, deconstructed, and re-engineered in a variety of styles. Joinery around each element is securely soldered or welded directly chain-to-chain, with no bulky jump rings, drawing slim, uninterrupted lines throughout the work. Detailing is always kept minimal and discreet, focusing attention on the form of the piece and the inherent beauty of the vintage materials.

Sarah Richardson  |  Designer Jewelry (Saturday only)

Sarah Richardson vendor images

Sarah Richardson’s jewelry is a process of evolving designs. Drawn to the organic quality of each individual pod, a repetition of these elements creates geometric form. Each piece is hand carved using traditional methods, then cast in 18K yellow gold or sterling. Using heat to bring the fine metal to the surface, each piece is then polished on the edges creating an interior glow.

All pieces are finely crafted in Sarah’s San Rafael studio using recycled sterling, 18K gold & platinum and ethically sourced stones. Any pieces which are vermeil are plated in a heavy 18K gold over sterling, with gold fill chains, to ensure long-lasting quality.

Sonja Fries  |  Handcrafted Jewelry

Sonja Fries vendor images

The desire to create jewelry harkens back to Sonja’s upbringing in rural Germany: Turn the inspiration she gathered in the forest and fields around her into adornment. Her work is produced using traditional methods of handmaking jewelry like sawing, forging, and soldering. Her work mostly consists of classic materials such as metals, stones, and pearls. Much like an architect, she sets out with a unique vision and carefully selects the materials, constructing each piece layer by layer.

Sonja studied jewelry design and the art of craft in Pforzheim, Germany, renowned for its jewelry production as well as for its jewelry design schools in Europe. After working in jewelry galleries in Germany she came to New York City in 1997 and has been living and working out of her studio there ever since.
