About the artist:
Ayca Kilicoglu is a San Francisco based designer, illustrator, and educator. She was born and raised in Turkey where she studied public administration and worked in the field of economics. She moved to the US in 2010 and studied graphic design at the UC Berkeley Extension and received a master's degree from Academy of Art University. She has since started her own company, Mūr by Ayca, where she designs vibrant, sophisticated, and eye-catching prints with whimsical and unexpected details that allude to power. For this pattern, Ayca was influenced by the Otomi embroidery of Mexico on a recent trip there. It uses the same bright colors and unique floral and animal details.
