About the artist:
Luis Romero is a self-taught artist, born and raised in Mexico City and influenced by the city's bright, creative undercurrent. As a young adult, he moved to Seattle, WA, where he spent 15 years. Far from his home country, Luis reimagined the Mexico of his youth and through painting, he explored his Mexican soul.
His folkloric illustrations are storytellers, memories on paper. Inspired by the faces of farmers and flower sellers, revolutionaries and ritual makers Luis's work conveys his deep affection for the people of Mexico.
