Paulina Sevilla San Francisco Leather Notebook: Brown

SFMOMA Exclusive!

Designed by La Cartera del Cartero - illustrated by Paulina Sevilla.

About the artist:
Originally from Mexico City, architect Paulina Sevilla has collaborated with different architecture studios such as Tatiana Bilbao Estudio, where she had a creative role, in exploring the link between art and architecture.

To celebrate the exhibition Diego Rivera's America, the Museum Store invited Sevilla to interpret the universe of the Mexican muralist. As an architect, her approach was through two buildings that Diego inhabited in Mexico City: The Anahuacalli and the Twin houses.

For this project, Sevilla illustrated the spaces inhabited by Diego and Frida, including the important objects that characterize the place and celebrate Mexican culture. She also created detailed drawings of both Mexico City and San Francisco, two of the most iconic cities in Rivera's life.
