Kay Bojesen Songbird Nightingale Aqua

Designed by Kay Bojesen.

The figure Nightingale is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's famous art fairy tale of the same name. The fairy tale was published in 1843 and is about a nightingale whose song enchanted the Emperor. When the Emperor gets a mechanical Nightingale, he forgets the real Nightingale which then flies away. When the Emperor becomes terminally ill, the nightingale returns and heals the Emperor through his beautiful song. The songbird Nightingale's colors are inspired by the beautiful Chinese Nightingale.
