The Classic Trays (1945-74) by Alexander Girard and Charles and Ray Eames. Made of laminated plywood, they feature motifs from the rich store of images created by these legendary designers. The three designers were leading figures in American design during the post-war era. While textile design was the primary focus of Girard's oeuvre, he was also admired for his work in the graphic arts as well as furniture, exhibition and interior design.

Available at SFMOMA just in time for a gentle Valentine's Day gesture.
