After graduating with a degree in International Affairs from Buenos Aires University, Victoria Bekerman moved to New York City where she was inspired by the immediacy and eclectic energy of the city. She soon discovered her inner calling of design. So she began her study of jewelry making under the tutelage of Robert and Hiroko M. Streppone.
In 2005, Victoria started her first company Debaires. However in 2010, she rebranded herself and the company to reposition herself within the jewelry market, aiming for a more contemporary and timeless product.
Her designs are simple, yet sophisticated; both modern and enduring. The pieces are classic, feminine and delicate. "I design for dynamic women with active lives, who share a love for beauty and simplicity, but still want to look fabulous." Her designs also reflect her philosophy in life — "Life is simple, why complicate it?" This esthetic gives her pieces broad appeal to women of various demographics.
She currently works with sterling silver, 14K gold filled, gold vermeil, semi-precious stones and some vintage found objects. The signature look of her last collection is a mix of blackened silver and gold in a way that feels airy and feminine.
