Jay DeFeo: A Retrospective
By Dana Miller. With contributions by Michael Duncan, Corey Keller, Carol Mancusi-Ungaro and Greil Marcus.
A long overdue, comprehensive look at Jay DeFeo’s career as an avant-garde artist. Although best known for her monumental, painting The Rose (1958–66), DeFeo worked in a wide range of media and produced an astoundingly diverse and compelling body of work over four decades. This book includes approximately 200 works, including new photographs and a number of previously unpublished works.
